Galaxia #2 - Bloodwing page (1981)

If this character reminds you of DEVIL-SLAYER from Marvel's Defenders, or of the Atlas/Seaboard DEMON HUNTER character... there's a good reason! And it's an interesting backstory: David A. Kraft and Rich Buckler created Demon Hunter for Atlas/Seaboard in 1975, but the company folded having only produced a single issue. In 1977, the creative duo found themselves working at Marvel on a DEATHLOK story for Marvel Spotlight #33. So they inserted the exact same character (origin and all) and with only a minor name change and costume color scheme change... Devil-Slayer was born. By 1981, Rich Buckler was turning a hand at independent publishing and created this magazine, and once again, tried to revitalize Gideon Cross. But with a new name... BLOODWING!
