Description

Nice, somber page from Pratt's most famous Argentinian period comic. Sgt Kirk was a prototype for Corto Maltese in many ways. Here we see great use of silhouettes and lighting. It is easy to see all the Caniff influence in this art. It was almost a year ago to the day that I bought another Sgt. Kirk in person at a Lucca comic art auction in Italy....remember when you could travel. I have an early Ernie Pike as well so I think it is time for Corto Maltese page. If you happen to have one or know of one for sale, please let me know.
