Stunning piece by Brian Stelfreeze.

“The Body Shop” is a reference to how Mojo replaced Betsy’s eyes with cybernetic cameras and even though it’s portrayed as Betsy meeting Kwannon on a pier after passing through the Siege Perilous when the X-men are trying to escape the Mojoverse. It’s also mentioned that the psychic body swap was actually being manipulated by Mojo and Spiral at “The Body Shop” laboratory. It’s been retconned over and over though so it’s a bit unclear.

It’s oversized too. Page measures 13-inches by 23.5-inches

Wow. What a sublime Stelfreeze painting. It's obviously contemporary but reminds me of his work during the 90s. Congrats.

Looking at this again (and I just liked it as one of your top 5 on FB comic sketch group post)

I like how the buildings are based on real Chicago and NYC buildings (I'm an architect, had to notice)

Man this must be a sight in person, especially being how bit it is. Great pose, and I love how her eyes are closed - all adds up to a graceful, elegant vibe, which is awesome. And of course the colors. So, so vibrant. Sweet hues of blue and purple throughout and I really like how the pinkish light at the lower center adds a nice juxtaposition! Congrats!
