DescriptionCurrently in Mark Warunek's gallery.
I’ve gotten many wonderful compliments from the fine people of CAF about my collection/gallery. All giving me credit for being smart enough to buy all the pieces I bought way back when. Well, now I’m about to show you all what an absolute idiot I was. Keep in mind that many of the pieces that currently reside in my collection came from these very same catalogs. So the next time you want to call me a genius for all the pieces I did buy back then, just take a look at some of the rubbish I DIDN’T buy! In other words, this is the collection I COULD‘VE had. (Somebody shoot me now! LOL) What is very interesting to note here is that during this 9-year span of catalogs (1984-1993), there is nothing here that is priced over (or anywhere near) $1000. Actually (with the exception of the Killing Joke page), nothing even breaks the $500 range. Absolutely incredible for pieces that could all easily be five figures (or more) today! By the way, I’ve got dozens and dozens of these. So I’ll be posting them in chunks from time to time (to prolong the torture). Social/Sharing |

Ha! No doubt that as soon as I post the very last image (months from now), I'm going straight to hell for this. Hope you are doing well and staying safe my friend.

I look back at that I paid for my pieces when I started and I throw up a little. And I regret having sold anything!! Lol

I don't think those regrets ever end. I have dozens of those stories. Right off the top of my head, my JR jr Uncanny X-Men cover that I bought for a couple of hundred bucks, sold for about five hundred, and then it eventually sold on ComicLink for almost 40k. Even worse, I actually had TWO Romita Jr Uncanny covers! Both gone. Sigh!

I wouldn't have minded so much if I was the one who made the 40k. But it was the guy who got it from me who made out like a bandit. LOL! And back in the day, those Art Adams pages (along with his X annual pages) were all over the place for $125-$175 each. I didn't pay much attention to them because I didn't collect panel pages. Now those things are STARTING at 2k each. I wasn't even paying 2k for Art Adams COVERS back then! Crazy man!

HEY! Thanks for letting me know this was in your gallery. Will have to update my description. Hopefully you didn't have to pay too much more for it. If you did, I would advise that you stop looking at this post. LOL! Be well and stay safe my friend.
