DescriptionMy wife and I are incredibly excited to add this early Dungeons & Dragons piece to our collection. It hails from 1991's dungeon module "Ruins of Undermountain" and is featured on one of the first pages of the module's handbook. It depicts the notorious Halaster Blackcloak combating some of D&D's most infamous monsters including a minotaur, skeleton, ankheg, and a beholder! The piece is by Karl Waller and is ink and white paint highlights over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 15" x 8". To my understanding, this is one of the first images of Halaster Blackcloak. Halaster has appeared in numerous D&D modules, video games, and novels from 1991 to 2019. Published: 1991 Social/Sharing |
