DescriptionIncredibly rare original printed proof page for Secret Agent X-9, the classic newspaper strip that began back in 1934. This is a proof for 2 consecutive strips, the July 16, 1934 (7/16/34) episode, and the July 17, 1934 (7/17/34) episode. This is from very early on, when the strip was illustrated by the legendary Alex Raymond, who is of course one of the all-time greats and known for classic work on Flash Gordon and Rip Kirby. This is a black and white proof, featuring beautiful artwork by Raymond. The proof sheet measures approximately 6 3/4" by 14", and is on high-quality smooth coated white stock, not cheap newsprint. It is in very good condition, particularly considering its age (more than 85 years old!), with only minor handling wear and edgewear. Please note that this is NOT a mass-produced print, lithograph, or poster reproduction. This is a very cool and rare comic collectible that you will hardly ever get a chance to see. Also, considering the cost of original art done by Raymond (forget about a Flash Gordon Sunday!), this is a much more reasonable way to own a piece of production art from one of the great strips in American history, and a true landmark in the detective/action genre.
