A wonderful pastel prelim from John Harris visualizing his take on the Tannhauser Gate mentioned in Blade Runner as Roy lay dying...

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those . . . moments . . . will be lost in time, like . . . tears . . . in rain."

I don't post many prelims but John's sketches are really magical!

Love this! I often enjoy Harris's pastel comps more than his finished pieces, great as the larger pieces are. The mood, lighting, spontaneity, and charm of his prelims make for romantic imagery
