Description

An X-Factor page in a “Superman in the 90’s” gallery? Wait, what?!? Exactly. The collector frenzy surrounding the Death of Superman was insane. Once news outlets picked up the story, the general public got involved and it brought in a massive influx of speculators wanting in on the action. So much so that even Marvel had to poke fun at the craze! Death of Superman brought me into buying weekly comics because I was genuinely interested in the story. I then moved to other books including many of the X-titles. I eventually picked up this issue as a back issue because I was hooked by the 30th Anniversary crossover event Fatal Attractions & it made me hunt some back issues. I distinctly remember coming across this page and getting a good a chuckle out of the reference! A local sheriff clocks Quicksilver at 189 and shrugs it off as one of those collectors still after the Death of Superman comic. Definitely fun to add this little gem to my collection.
