Bruce Timm makes it look sooooo easy! It's not, it takes a lot of talent to make it look as simple as Timm does.

That's exactly what popped into my head, even before I read your comment. So you took the words right out of my mouth (or my keyboard, as it were). In the hands of anyone else, that background detail would probably be just a big mess. He does make it look so easy.
