DescriptionAs fellow kids of the 80's may remember, Alpha Flight #12 featured a shock ending where team leader Guardian (aka Vindicator) died while trying to prevent his suit from exploding. The following issue began with an amazing 11 page dialogue-free dream sequence at his funeral. On this page, Heather MacNeil Hudson (who eventually takes over as Vindicator), is comforted by Shaman, Sasquatch (in human form), Aurora and Snowbird, who transforms into her owl form. While Byrne's work on Alpha Flight didn't quite measure up to his Fantastic Four or X-Men runs, there were some great moments, such as this sequence. Social/Sharing |

I remember these moments so well. I loved Byrne's Alpha Flight run, and all the backstory he brought for these characters. Man, I would love to see an Alpha Flight movie based on one of his storylines. Their battles against the great beasts would be amazing on the big screen. Awesome find! Big congrats!

This is a wonderful example... Byrne can really tell a heck of a story, who needs words when you can draw this well! Congrats!

Yep, this is from one of his most memorable Alpha Flights. So simple. So beautifully done.
