Description

Finally able to add one of the key pages from this issue. A terribly tragic moment as Gudrun is shot and killed. An innocent woman and mother, involved with the communists to help feed her children, left by her husband as a consequence.

This page is the culmination of this chapter as it begins with her silently awakening and preparing what she has for her children. Truly we can see that oftentimes politics is secondary to survival and the innocent that fall victim.

Lutes really established the inequality of wealth in late Weimar Germany and the difficult life some of the poor had to live. Gudrun was front and center in the first 1/3 of the story and we end with her tragic demise. This will go on to cause a chain reaction impacting her children and others in this tale.

So happy to have added this page and that much closer to completing this issue.
