DescriptionIt's always a good day when I can add yet another Cosmic Ghost Rider cover to my collection. This fantastic piece by Geoff Shaw is the cover image of one of the most action packed comics I've ever read. In an effort to stop Cosmic Ghost Rider from inadvertently raising baby Thanos into a dictatorial ruler of the future, Cable and the Earth-TRN18138 Guardians of the Galaxy commit to an all out assault on the hapless Rider. Twenty pages later sees the Guardians defeated and the future of the universe in question. This cover includes massive images of Cable and Cosmic Ghost Rider as the Guardians battle in the background. Most notably, this is Juggerduck's first cover appearance and I believe his only depiction by artist Geoff Shaw. Interestingly, the published cover also includes several digital edits. There are two edits in particular worth noting. The most obvious is the repositioning of Captain Marvel at the top of the page. The other is the change to the alien's head directly to the right of Iron Groot. On the original, this alien bears more than a passing resemblance to a Ferengi from Star Trek. I'm assuming editorial wanted to avoid any potential legal issues and had Geoff digitally alter the alien for the published cover. Enormous thanks to Jiggy for allowing me to add this incredible cover to my Cosmic Ghost Rider collection. If you're not familiar with Jiggy, he's a rep for many fantastic comic artists. I encourage you to check out his site at Next Comic Art. Published: September 5, 2018 Social/Sharing |

CGR baby! To be honest, it took me some time to find CGR as there was so much to look at. Great cover, jammed with so much detail and goodness!

Juggerduck? Ok, I clearly have some reading to do. This is a sweet battle cover. Cable is all confidence. You could put him in front of the Beyonder, and he'd take a swing. And that's why we love him. Cosmic Ghost Rider was a great idea, and I dig the art and stories I'm seeing from it. Nice find. Congrats!

Thanks! Read Thanos #13 - #18 by Cates and Shaw and then Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 - #5 by Cates and Burnett. Probably goes without saying, but they're some of my all-time favorite comics. Hugger duck is more of a fan favorite than anything actually relevant to the story. Although Cates has heavily hinted Juggerduck might get his own mini-series.

Beautiful cover. All the characters are beautifully executed, but that Cable is so sweet

Yeah I spotted that Ferengi right away. Why does Captain Marvel have Captain America's shield. Oh well I am afraid I am just showing my ignorance for not having read the series. Even so it is a great cover. Congrats.

Short answer: it's cool and takes place in the future, so anything goes!

So much to look at with this one as you move back in in the image, or forward - lots of depth! Nice full shot of CGR and love the 90s Cable - shoulder pads taking up a good chunk of the board :) I dig it! The ink spatter too provides a nice effect. Sweet get all around, Rob!

Wow! Stunning work by the always impressive Geoff Shaw! Love all the action Geoff packed into this one cover! That's a lot of detail in one cover! I love the confrontation at the bottom between Cable and Comic Ghost Rider! A+++
