Description

Can't get enough of Phillips & Brubaker's Criminal series. This is from "The Last of the Innocent" storyline, which showed characters inspired by Archie comics as they might be in the real world. The art style Brubaker used switched from a simple comic book look to a darker realistic style. By my count, there are 14 pages in the whole story that mix gritty reality in some panels with a happy cartoony style in others, so I was glad to pick this one up. These creators really explore formal aspects of comic book storytelling yet they always deliver satisfying and enjoyable stories.
