DescriptionGorgeous pencils from Leinil Yu as Wolverine and Bucky recount WWII Steve Rogers. Talk about DEPTH and SHADOW adding to atmosphere here. There's a reason Leinil's pencils were colored over and not inked.Social/Sharing |

Wolverine, Winter Soldier, and Cap all in one page! Yu's full pencils to print are always full of spirit and tighter than anything he'd pencil for an inker to finish.

I really love how a lot of his pencils during this time were scanned and colored directly!

"Gorgeous" is right... Holy moley! Atmosphere you can cut with a knife, with shadows to spare. The hatching along the edges of the lighting "halo" around Wolverine in panel one is beautiful, and you know you're dealing with heroes struggling against spiritual darkness when the flashback scene of you about to be blown up by Baron Zemo is the brightest thing on the page... Poor Bucky. His pain, grief, and despair are so real and believable here. Panel five is simply haunting. A home run by Mr. Yu. Incredible page; congrats!

YES, you understand. I stare at the hatching and shadows all day! I can't agree enough with your statement about masterful emotion in this piece. Glad you enjoyed this home run too!
