DescriptionBill Mantlo really captures the essence of the Incredible Hulk during the time period with this great closing page to issue 262. I love the final dialog box “His agony carries him into the night! For all his power, the Hulk knows he can never change the nightmare of his own existence!”And if you are playing a game of Marvel Jeopardy, you will be set with such classic lines as “Hulk is Hulk”, “Hulk is the strongest there is”, “Puny Human”, and “Hulk is nothing but a MONSTER!” … I’ll take Bronze Era Hulk Quotes for a thousand Alex (we all no what quote would be in this spot). I love Sal’s work here with him handling pencil and ink work at this time – such a well-illustrated page. If you read this comic when it came out as I did, I am sure you get the musical reference with the setup for issue 263. Social/Sharing |

Another mean and green highlicht in your "incredible" collection ! This great end-page is one of the strongest ones there is and nothing less than a monster :)

Great page, with a lovely Sal Hulk half-splash to close the story. (So, was the story after the next one called "I feel the sky tumbling down"?)

Winner Winner! Marvel changed it, albeit slightly, to "And the Sky Come Tumbling Down!"

When your son is a dire wraith and you need to keep him sedated all the time with needles... I think you're the lousy monster, your jerk store doctor. People can be cruel in order to avoid looking at themselves in the mirror. Poor misunderstood Hulk. Sal pen and inks bring out his sadness and inner turmoil as his self worth destructs taking in a more powerful blow than any monster can dish out.

Wow, this has to be one of my favorite Sal Buscema Hulk pages ever! That last panel image, all those signature Hulk lines, the emotion in that first panel, the way the Hulk literally launches himself towards the next issue ...fantastic piece!!

I’m not a Sal fan but I really enjoy seeing cool people scoring stuff they love. Great page!

This is a fabulous end page to add to your already impressive Hulk collection, Dave. I have to say, the fact that the Hulk spouts so many of his most classic lines all on this one page is at least half the reason I love it so much. Bonus!

Apologies to Trimpe, Keown and Byrne fans, but Sal's Hulk remains the definitive version. Great example!

A classic Sal Hulk action pose to go with the many Hulkisms. Color me green with gamma rays!

Hulk is trying to jump after my soaring appreciation of this page. You're gonna fall short, bubaleh. This is one of my favorite Sal Hulk pages to be posted here. That splashy jump is incredible, and it's perfect Hulk dialogue. A little braggadocio, and a little of the trauma slipping out. What a super cool score. Huge congrats!

LOL, missed this one! So true, he's probably about to break out a song "Nobody likes me
Everybody hates me
Guess I'll go eat worms"

Love it! Self reflection time. Sticks and stones?! Not so sure :) Definitely some poignant storytelling - check out those expressions. And of course it's hard to beat a large Sal B. leaping Hulk image! Congrats, Dave!

Man, this is the quintessential Hulk page! It's got everything--a memorable moment, powerful language, and especially, Sal Buscema's classic portrayal of the Hulk! That final panel is the bomb!
