Description

Here is just a wholesome dose of comic art happiness! Pure Ramona Fradon pencils are always a treat to see and I’ll always associate Aquaman with Storm given my earliest exposure to the character (like many my age) was via Super Friends. Given Ramona’s history with the character she was chosen as the cover artist for the 1950’s variant to the upcoming 80th Anniversary issue. She submitted a few images for approval to DC and this was one of them but was not ultimately chosen. When it became available for sale, I couldn’t pass it up. Again, just exudes pure comic joy and these type of pieces are always welcome in my collection!

It's beautiful enough to encompass any any of those eras of Aquaman and especially for generations who got that warm feeling from his appearances. Look at how Fradon puts the shiny S curve on his trunks and how good the textures are for the seahorse!

Beautiful page! Ramona always does a great job on Aquaman. Takes me back to the Aquaman Filmation shorts I used to watch as a kid.
