DescriptionEwoks: Logray animation sketch, from episode number ? (I have no idea how to read the notes/numbers/markings on animation sketches to figure out episode details/info, but hopefully I will learn this over time).I've been experimenting and getting into animation art (just a little bit), mainly because it's fun (but also because it's cheap!), but before I start posting "new" pickups, I figured I should scan and upload existing animation related art in my collection that I almost completely forgot I had, because they were all given to me as gifts awhile back by the same person (thanks "Bake" / Tommy Baker !). This is an animation sketch from the Ewoks cartoon. Ewoks, also known as Star Wars: Ewoks, is an animated television series featuring the Ewok characters introduced in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) and further explored in the movies Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure (1984) and its sequel Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985). The series was produced by Nelvana on behalf of Lucasfilm and broadcast on ABC, originally with its sister series Droids (as part of The Ewoks and Droids Adventure Hour), and then by itself, as The All-New Ewoks. In this animation sketch is depicted the character of Master Logray, an old Ewok Medicine Man/Shaman. Logray's wisdom and magic are used to avert all kinds of crises on the moon of Endor. He is often the dispenser of wisdom and knowledge about the world of Endor. I guess it's time to fire up the Ewoks cartoon via the Star Wars Vintage Collection on Disney Plus and revisit this considering I was age 1 and age 2 when the 2 seasons aired (1985 and 1986). Fun and cheap, my two favourite adjectives in this hobby! I was going to suggest you get in touch with Tommy Serra to see if he could help figure out what the markings mean, but then I kept reading and foun out he's the one who gave this to you in the first place. He's a good man, that Tommy!

I did watch and thoroughly enjoy Tommy Sera's collector interview with Bill, but this was actually a different Tommy lol a friend of mine who lives down in the Florida Keys. Not that Tommy S isn't a good man but can't give him credit for this one ;-) ...maybe I should edit that part to avoid confusion

Oh wow, that's a crazy coincidence because Tommy Serra is also from Florida!

ha damn! I had forgotten that. I corrected the description to include my friend's nickname (Bake) and full name (Tommy Baker...easy to see where the nickname comes from) so there's no confusion because the next 4 animation pieces I'm going to post were also from him ;)

For those of us who were kids in the 1980s, I can tell you that we were starved for Star Wars content following the release of ROTJ. This series, along with the Droids animated series, were a godsend to a 9 year-old me and my 6 year-old brother. It was a fun series, but I have no idea how a person seeing it for the first time as an adult may react to it - let us know if you do end up checking it out.

For sure man!! That's what I hear from some of the slightly older fans than me. I've seen a few random episodes before, maybe about a decade ago, via 2nd hand tape/VHS recordings - but I plan on diving into both Ewoks and Droids soon on Disney Plus. I have already seen the Ewok films a long time ago too. I've got more animation pieces from both Ewoks and Droids to upload in the weeks/months ahead (won't upload all at once)!

Rare look of Logray who only appears this way after the Battle of Endor. Have fun screen matching! Do a screen capture and a gif like Tommy S.
