Description
From the same creative team as Batman: The Cult.... Jim Starlin, Bernie Wrightson, and Bill Wray.

Although this 4-part Punisher series doesn't do it for me nearly as much as Batman: The Cult, the art still does it for me despite the story. In this arc the Punisher goes up against a crazed baddie who's been disfigured by a bomb and exposed to toxic waste. He's basically a mutant who is hard to kill, has accelerated healing abilities, and looks like a zombie. Ridiculous? Yeah, but who cares.

Nice page. This series hits a nostalgic note for me. I remember going and buying this with my grandfather when I was probably too young to be reading it.

Wrightson on Punisher meant that he would be able to blast away and empty all clips on any and all the supernatural monstrosities he could come up with.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure Jim Starlin wrote this story specifically for Bernie to be able to draw a zombie-like monster.
