DescriptionFBOFW has a very special place in my heart. I grew up reading this strip by Canadian artist Lynn Johnston in the local newspaper in Calgary. I was about 2 years older than Michael was and so I grew up with him. I had a little sisters as well and a dog and so we had shared a very similar childhood. When their dog Farley died, this happened just after we had to put down our dog and that week of the strip still brings up a well of emotions in me. I have had the pleasure of seeing that sequence in person at the Billy Ireland museum. So, when this early, single panel daily came up dedicated to a different Jeff, I thought it would be a nice addition to my collection. I've met Lynn on several occasions and have had chance to email with her in the past so it has been nice to be able to express my gratitude for her work in person. To me, FBOFW is a contemporary Canadian equivalent to Gasoline Alley.Social/Sharing |

This reminds me of my youngest son. His room looks like this most days. Johnston certainly understood family dynamics. Congrats

Great story - love this strip as well - not many 'splash' strips out there!

Great early example and nice that it's already personalized to you :) I'm also a fan of FBOFW and think it's somewhat underrepresented on CAF.

FBOFW is a classic strip. I loved that Johnston had everyone age in real time. Great example.
