Description

Released May 2017.

It’s family reunion time as Starfox and Nebula (along with the Champion) seek out a weak and dying Thanos for help in defeating Thanos’ son, Thane.

I’ve only recently started buying more modern pages, and this page by German Peralta blew me away when I saw it. The funny thing is, I bought this page two weeks ago mere minutes before I saw that K Gearon had posted a fantastic page by Geoff Shaw from Guardians of the Galaxy #3 that is the reverse image of this page - it has a hologram of a powerful Thanos looking down at a weakened Starfox.

This is one of those pieces that I can honestly say looks better in person, but I hope the scan does it justice.

Thanks!  I think this one is getting framed.

Haven't read this storyline, but with how dominant Thanos is, it's really interesting to see him so weak.  Nice page!

The wash painting is fantastic as it layers down to draw our attention from to to bottom.

I've never heard of Thane, but this is indeed a nice piece. I'm glad to see another collector widening their view and realizing that there is a lot great art and fun to be had in collecting outside of the narrow "vintage art only" scope!

I'm sure you have.  If you watched the movie Logan, there's a movie playing on TV and the little boy at the end yells out to the lone horse rider going out towards the mountains, "Pa's got things for you to do.  And mother wants you.  I know she does. Thane!  Thane!  Come Back!"  But he keeps riding off and the little boy is left without his hero.

How the hell do you remember such unimportant and trivial movie dialogue?! I DID see Logan, but all I remember was the X-23 performance by Daphne Keene. My all-time favorite Marvel film performance!

Even Daphne Keene quoted Thane's dialogue at the end of Logan during the eulogy...."A man has to be what he is, Joey. Can't break the mold. There's no living with the killing. There's no going back. Right or wrong, it's a brand. A brand that sticks. Now you run on home to your mother... you tell her everything's alright. There are no more guns in the valley."

Nice! The reverse image :) I'm liking German's stuff more and more. Underrated as far as I'm concerned, especially his inks wash skills. His line work too is sublime here. Great example of his work - layered and lotsa contrast. And you've started to look into modern stuff more, eh? Broke the seal in a big way here..watch out ;) Congrats, Michael!

I also wasn't familiar with his work until I started seeing a few posts here on CAF recently, which led me to look at the comics on Marvel Unlimited, which led me to get this page.
