DescriptionA mystery. I picked this beautiful little work up several years back. It dates to 1915, and features a young couple at the beach. pencils, ink, and, I think, gouache paint. The artist has a very distinct style, but I cannot decipher the signature. As with many in the era, he appears influenced by Leyendecker. I love his expressions for the two leads. Any ideas as to the artist?Social/Sharing |

I thought maybe the first word in the lower left was "Newty," but that hasn't gotten me anywhere with Google. = P

Ben, glad you enjoyed it. I've been trying to unravel the name for a while. A very distinctive, but very mysterious, signature.
