Description

24.25" x 17.5" by David Egge. Original gouache painting on illustration board, circa 1979. From the Norman Jacobs / Starlog Collection. Published in 1993 for Starlog's Space Art trading card set. This painting was also sold as a poster.

This painting is quite large and just sucks you in to the scene with that mesmerizing glow of Mars on the horizon past the crater-pocked hills of Deimos. A successful work of astronomical art is when the painting makes the viewer want to be there and this one certainly accomplishes that!

Amazing piece! I've always thought Egge was severely underrated.
