DescriptionStange Adventures by Tom King, Mitch Gerads and Evan "Doc" Shaner is THE story that seemed to carry me through the covid pandemic thus far. Beautiful, haunting, tragic, and always thrilling. When it was announced that Mitch and Doc would be co-drawing (and inking and coloring) this series, I was both excited and skeptical. They're both incredible artists but their styles and tones are vastly different. In the end the peanut butter and chocolate cocktail was a gift to readers. I got to meet the creative team at the 2021 Baltimore Comic-con and when I got to talking to Doc and asked for an Adam Strange remark, he asked if he could pick one of his alternate suits from the book. Doc got to design a full Kenner action figure level line of looks for Adam in the series and for my sketch he chose the Gladiator Arena look, when Adam was first sporting his beard. It ended up being my favorite sketch of the show and our brief interaction is one I'll remember always. Hope to see him at a show again in 2022.Social/Sharing |

A great drawing that was done for a fan and it shows with Shaner's extra attention to getting the look right.
