DescriptionElektra #24 Pg. 15. Pencils by Sean Chen and Inks by Tom Palmer. Written by Robert Rodi. One of the first pieces of art I ever picked up when I started was a Sean Chen Elektra convention head sketch. Followed that up eventually with the first published OA page I ever picked up, which was a Sean Chen Elektra splash page from issue #28, but that didn't even have Elektra on the page. So, when I stumbled across this cool page with Elektra in 2 panels (ok one real shot of her in panel 2, and then again a brief look at her costume zipping away in the final panel) for $35 (way less than I paid for the splash page without Elektra which was my first page) in a pile of un-bagged pages at Terrificon (Spencer's booth) over the summer, I couldn't pass it up as a fan of the artist, character, and run. Prelim on the back, and published with colors/dialogue in additional images. Boo! Social/Sharing |

Great to hear stories of quality affordable art finding its way into the hands of the right collector. Super score!

This is a great example of the inexpensive little gems that new collectors complaining about prices should be focused on, rather than continuing to complain that page with Elektra in 6 out of 6 panels is way outside their budget! I mean, thirty-five bucks? That's cheapo for the 2nd panel alone and you get the rest of it for free!

If you've seen Chen art with other inkers, you'd notice all the gritty things Tom Palmer added to the piece over all the usual high detail linework. The inking adds the hard edge to it with the shadows and background static, plus the brushing of the hair. An art lesson and your favorite character in a piece that is worth the price of admission. Stick a sai into this and take the win.

Wonderful page, Chen is so under-appreciated. Congrats!

Stellar. Had no idea Chen worked on Elektra -- what a fit.

35? Did you pay with wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese?
