Savage Sword of Conan 10 pg 29 Buscema

The best (my opinion) and probably strangest page of this entire issue and story, R.E. Howard's "The Hour of the Dragon." Buscema reaches into some pretty strange places for this imagery!!! It features Akivasha the Vampiress cavorting with nether creatures/demons that shrink from the light of the Heart of Ahriman. The next panel with the salamander creature entering the passage has an incredible eldritch feel and is simply iconic. The disturbing narrative is then translated at the exit into relief. Then as the text states Conan, "...runs in the grip of ungovernable panic." That's pretty apt!

Masterful work by John Buscema (w/Autograph at the top) and "The Tribe" who are purported to include Tony DeZuñiga, Steve Gan, Rudy Mesina, and Freddie Fernandez. I definitely believe I see DeZuniga's ink pen here.
