Cosmic Ghost Rider Concept Sketch #3 (2015)

This is the third of 3 concept sketches Ian Bederman did of Cosmic Ghost Rider in 2015 at the request of Donny Cates - 2 years before the character first appeared in Thanos #13 on November 22, 2017. These sketches are from Ian's personal sketchbook, where these sketches had resided for the past 7 years. It brings me incredible joy to welcome these amazing pieces of comic history to my Cosmic Ghost Rider collection and display them alongside the greatest published images of the character.

This page includes a prelim for one of Ian's paintings as well as another design for Cosmic Ghost Rider. This design takes the character darker with a hollowed out gut and horror inspired skull chest. This sketch is the first inclusion of the slimmer helmet, the gun, and the rounded knee pads. Ian went full metal with this design and I love it!

The painting prelim provides further evidence of the sketch's creation in 2015 as the final painting is dated 2015. The reverse is a sketch of Ian's character Cyberzerker.
