Description“Ah just don’t like suicide missions” - HuskAn underlying theme of this mini series was if the next generation of X-men in the age of apocalypse were going to survive the mission to rescue their leader Colossus’s sister. Maybe my favorite storyline in comics, you grow to love these characters and empathize with them. And then in a split second it all goes to hell. Peak Bachalo/Buckingham, peak characters, peak emotional impact on a classic story. Every panel is a gem. (Eternal thanks to fellow CAF member Mike for a giving me the chance to add this to my collection). Social/Sharing |

Love it, out of all the AoA books this one may hold up the best.

This AOA mini was killer as the Bachalo redesigns suited his own style of patterns and textures done in excess detail! Bachalo didn't follow the more often imitated Jim Lee style like the other titles and forged his own unique path in this and Generation X.

Glad to see it in a home where it is appreciated as much as it was here.

Pages like this make me regret not paying more attention to Bachalo and Generation X/Next during my early comic reading days... I still love Joe Mad's AoA designs more, but I really dig Kitty and Colossus here. Congrats on a lovely page!

Easily some of Bachalo's best work, I think of the AoA this was my favorite series and the image of Kitty in the middle shows you exactly why the series is so great
