Description

Russ Braun has filled in on many different comic series
and has always made it look effortless. When Darick
Robertson stepped away from “The Boys”, it was Braun
who picked up the majority of that series' artistic
workload. Ask Garth Ennis, he’ll tell you how much Braun
was appreciated during the run (and after, with "Dear
Becky").

On this page, we see so many minor characters for the
first time. There’s the reprehensible Oh Father, who won’t
be seen on “The Boys” television series in this lifetime, and
his Sidekick Twelve. Thirteen first appearances in one panel
alone.

Who are the Sidekick Twelve? In "The Boys: Omnibus 4", Braun
wrote that they "don't really have official, individual names;
I just made them up for myself. And, yes, Stepchild is in
there because I couldn't think of any other superkids and
thought we could use a real whipping boy with no powers...."

Going left to right, Braun named them Flameboy, Stepchild,
BeeBoy, Imp, BeeGirl, Baxter, Zippy, Pigeon, Ultra Lass, E-ros,
Sadgirl, and Fishboy.

Poor Stepchild.
