Description
Charlton's "The Great Gazoo" comic from issue 19, 1976.
Gazoo, or the GREAT GAZOO, appeared in the final season of the Flintstones cartoon series in 1965. He was an alien from space that had been exiled to Earth from the future. Part of his exile punishment is that he needs to do good deeds to the person that finds him first... which is Fred and Barney. For some reason, he can only be seen by Fred, Barney, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, other small children, Dino the dinosaur, and Hoppy the kangaroo.
(Taken from Wikipedia) Gazoo refers to Fred and Barney as "dumb dumbs" and constantly causes problems for them. He can materialize and dematerialize objects, teleport, freeze time, travel through time, de-age anyone, and perform other remarkable feats but when he attempts to help out Fred and Barney, he usually ends up causing even more trouble.
Charlton, a US comic book company, licensed many Hanna-Barbera cartoon properties. Gazoo had 20 issues from August 1973 to January 1977. The art from this story was the second story in the issue, which was published in November of 1976. I have not been able to find the artists attributed to this work.
The conviences of a modern day stone age lifestyle is always a pleasure to explore as a mirror held up to show how real homes were changing with the times.
