Description

Not sure why Walker used the pseudonym "Addison" for this strip - ashamed of how adorable it was? This example, from 2 months into the 20-plus year run -- is a sweet-natured political commentary. I think Walker's brushwork (or pen?) was a bit looser here than in later years (or on Beetle Baily, from what I've seen) - the line less smooth, and more open. I like it!

The humor and the message it sends is very appropriate for the time. It comes int he Walker style that is easily relatable to audiences young and old. As for why he used Addison..
