DescriptionExtremely excited to add some Troy Nixey art to my collection. He has had a sale going on for the month of May and I knew it was time to go for something. I had looked at his art on Inky Knuckles multiple times and procrastinated on picking something up, so I really feel like this has been a long time coming.I really like the panel layout used for this page, starting with the awesome view through the binoculars and ending with our protagonist getting pummeled by the surrounding mob. When you look at the original art version of this page as opposed to the published, that binocular view has a Where's Waldo quality to it. You actually have to search for the main character due to how many people Troy has drawn in. The next panel allows us to see exactly who is doing the looking. Third and fourth panels really show how well Troy can draw a character. He is very good at capturing facial expressions and his design for people is so unique! This page closes with a highly detailed shot of the main character taking one right in the kisser from said mob, as he talks through his trusty finger mic. Overall, I feel like this page is a wonderful example of Troy Nixey's work. It definitely makes me want to get in touch with Cam in the future about one of his highly detailed large commissions. Very clever layout and very effective storytelling stemming from the design. What they did with the bullseye coloring is cool. Nixey's characters for this story looks complicatedly designed to bring energy and mood into the story.
