I'm sure the colors really impressed Nick.

Published in Nick Cardy: The Artist at War, page 121.

Nick was originally drafted into the 66th Infantry Division, where he redesigned their shoulder patch. Later, Nick was transferred to the Third Armored Division as a tank driver.

Acquired from Nick's estate via ComicConnect.

Cardy's experiences moved him to create something this vivid tied to a time and place. It has a greater power than what is seen with history and memories behind it.
