DescriptionAs a Grand Finale to my Ladies Theme Week, here is a fun, quirky cover by Fred Hembeck. This is my only piece by this delightful illustrator with his wonderfully recognizable artistic style. Here we have Spidey admiring Silk as she strikes a pose and spins some webs with a come-hither look, as an annoyed Spider-Woman looks on in an angry huff. I get a chuckle out of this cover whenever I look at it. Thank you all for sharing this special theme week with me. I really appreciate all your thoughtful, observational, entertaining and often hilarious comments. Social/Sharing |

A fantastic, quintessential Hembeck-y piece. Spidey's face absolutely makes this.

Leave it to Hembeck to give Jessica Drew a proper outlet to express frustration that Silk is there to steal her thunder! Love it!

The hottest ladies of ladies week! Spidey just prematurely spun his webs.

Lol! That is a really clever homage to that meme when a guy is with his GF and checking out another girl. Love it! Perfect fir ladies week. This is so cool, I dig that Hembeck style. I have to get on his list. Congrats!

It's all about the knees - and they are perfect on those ladies.

Right on, Paul!! You know, I really didn't think there was any way you could take your amazing and mighty collection even FURTHER into the stratosphere, and then you go and add a Hembeck!! :) Truly, it belongs on the Next Level now... Fantastic add, Paul; a warm and humorous take on our arachners (and one doesn't usually see a lot of Spider-Woman by Fred, I don't think...?), and I love the tight-knit webbing on Spidey's zip line(s) here. Great piece, Paul - congrats! Level up! :)
