Description
Garfield and Friends "The Third Penelope Episode" Garfield and Penelope Production Cel Setup (Film Roman, 1993). When Garfield mishears his girlfriend Penelope's marriage proposal as an invitation to eat more marinara, he heartily agrees to the question. When he realizes that he has just accepted Penelope's proposal, Garfield is terrified, and the cat has a nightmare about how terrible his life would be if he were married. He hurries to Penelope to tell her that he cannot marry her, but he is surprised to find out that Penelope has also decided that the marriage wouldn't work. This image depicts both cats as they simultaneously back out of the engagement, a moment which can be found at about the 7:38 mark of "The Third Penelope Episode" from Garfield and Friends. This setup is composed of two original, hand-painted 12 field production cels. The image of Garfield measures about 4.25" tall, while Penelope measures about 3.75" tall. The cels are marked in their lower right corners with G36 and P1, and they are set atop a color print background from the show for presentation. This piece is in Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, some line fading, and some smudging.
