Green Lantern/Green Arrow O'Neil and Adams Tribute Prelim 04

Good afternoon, Champions. As you can see I'm starting to bringing my O'Neil and Adams tribute piece a little more into focus. Admittedly the Black Canary scene above doesn't happen in the comic, but I wanted to get across both how tough she is and the romantic humor she shares with Oliver, who I'm trying to flesh out in that scene. I'm also trying to get the length of the bow right for the central figure. I'm not worried, however, about the bow dipping into the black of Hal's costume. Since the light source is below Ollie, it stands to reason the top of the bow would be shaded with highlights. So it works. Period. As for Roy, I'm still refining his look a little. In paying homage to that infamous drug issue cover, I've rolled up his sleeve and had him staring at the paraphernalia on the table before him to get across the strength of that temptation. Overall the objective of this labor today was to pencil in those moments and add inks to the gutters of the scenes, which will be a space-esque, star-studded sky surrounding the Green Lantern symbol. More as it develops.
