Description

Classic story "The Man Who Falls" written by Dennis O'Neil and illustrated by Dick Giordano. This 16 page story builds on elements from Detective Comics #33, "Year One" by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli, "The Untold Legend of the Batman" by Len Wein, John Byrne, and Jim Aparo, and other classic Batman stories. Christopher Nolan acknowledged that this story served as direct inspiration for his 2005 Batman Begins movie with Christian Bale.

Originally published in the Secret Origins of the World's Greatest Super-Heroes book from 1989. The story was later reprinted in the Batman Begins movie adaptation TPB in 2005 and was also published as a mini comic that was included with the Batman Begins DVD set.

One of my favorite stories retelling the origin of Batman.

The last 3 panels are Year One images! I can guess the next page turn will have a splash with a bat that shatters the windows! Classic stuff that Giordano fills in with detail. You can see that he owns the first 3 panels of his own with part of the story that has more detail and intricate work where Bruce confirms his spirit quest has been fulfilled.
