Shanhara is dead! With the X-O armor destroyed, Aric finds himself in his most desperate fight yet! Will he be able to fend off his alien attackers without the armor, or will his friends pay the price? And without the armor, will Aric still have a place in the modern world?

The Spider Aliens have drawn Aric and the X-O armor into a trap that has destroyed Shanhara and Aric is about to share the same fate as the Black Widow Spider Alien Queen emerges just as Aric's friends Randy Carter, Paul Bouvier, & Turok show up to rescue the defenseless Visigoth. In the may lay, Paul Bouvier is mortally wounded as our heroes retreat having killed the Spider Alien Queen. But at what cost? Who is Aric with out the armor?

Back at Aric's place, Ken walks into a trashed house thinking our hero has had a little too much fun. He makes himself a drink as the X-O armored hand and arm he has had since issue 2 shatters revealing a newly grown forearm and hand. Now free of the X-O Arm monitoring device, Ken is now able to pursue his dastardly plans to take over ORB Industries

Upstairs, after a late visit from Solar, Aric is inconsolable and despondant over loosing Shanhara enraging Randy Carter who is just as upset having bonded with the armor (X-O # 21) but is more upset over Pauls condition. The two come to blows only to end up in bed together in a long over due love making session.

I think the motif of this issue should be "this is why we can't have nice things" Aric is a bull in a china shop. So much property damage.
