What a great Legion specialty piece! I always loved the way Mahlstedt used very fine lines to do the feathering and delineate the muscles. It really jazzed up Larocque's pencils and made for a great pairing.

Gorgeous pinups of the Legionaires by Greg LaRocque! Beautifully finished with inks by Larry Mahlstedt! I especially like the effects on Star Boy's costume. Great pick-up!

LaRocque was so good on this book. I recognized the poses when I saw the thumbnail image despite not having read this issue in decades.

I was late to the game (in regard to Larocque's work on Legion); After being a long time fan of his FLASH run, I was looking for his other DC work and was pretty much blown away by the quality of art I found on LOSH! You have some of the amazing examples from his beautiful tenure on the title and this page is a truly great depiction of some of its main stars. The inking actually reminds me of the style of Mike Decarlo, are you sure he didn't ink this one ?
