Ferro Lad by Gene Gonzales and Simon Gough

I was very happy when I learned that Ferro Lad would be appearing in the latest version of the Legion of Super-Heroes. And Ryan Sook's new design for his costume is just fantastic. He hasn't appeared much (yet) in the new books, but at least he was featured in a page drawn by Mike Allred! Anywho, I commissioned Gene Gonzales to draw this design and Gene, as he always does, knocked it out of the park! I love the flying pose and Gene's clean, crisp linework is always amazing. Simon Gough then came in and made this piece look even more incredible with his brilliant colors. Ferro Lad just pops off the screen now, and I really dig that background choice, too. Thanks, Gene and Simon!

Great background framing device! The cosmic color is complimentary to the costume and the hints of red are great to have foreground, middle ground and background connected.

Yes! This is why I like having so many of my commissions colored. The black and white lines by Gene are flawless, and Simon elevates every piece with his beautiful color work.

Ferro Lad has always been one of the more visually striking Legionnaires given the mask, and Gonzales and Gough did a wonderful job showing why Andrew Nolan's appearance is so memorable. Another great piece in your collection.
