DescriptionI remember this from 1980. If was possible to fall in love with a character from a drawing this one could do it. The "Pretty Girls" portfolio wasn't very good but this image was spectacular and worth buying the set for. When I saw it in Tim T's collection I thought "That's just not freaking fair, all of the art you own AND this one too!!" When I walked by Metropolis at C2E2 I was leaving the show but there she was and she stopped me in my tracks. I asked to see her without any intentions beyond looking. OMG, she was amazing and then some. John just had a way. The rest is what the rest is.Social/Sharing |

I was just commenting on how nice this piece was recently in the CFA-APA!

Wow, huge congrats! I passed by the Metropolis booth at C2E2 and never even stopped to look to see what artwork they had for sale (I didn't think there would be anything new...). Live and learn, but this is a great pickup. Can't go wrong with Byrne drawing Jean.

Absolutely perfect Byrne, I think it may have supplanted the comics as the definitive Jean Grey's Black Queen, and not the kind of piece I would’ve imagined ever leaving a collection! Huge congrats!!

With only a few issues that she appeared in this outfit by Byrne, she sure made a deep impression on everyone's minds. This is made to be more sexy than what could be published. That beauty mark on her is pretty hot. The riding crop would have sent this over the top.

Just that face alone - everything that made BYRNE a household name! There's something to be said for his women during this period. Stunning!

The most spectacular incarnation of Jean Grey! I perfectly understand your motivation...
