I remember being so surprised when I found out that you were the one who won this piece! A nice coincidence. It's an eclectic group of alternate timeline characters and wonderfully illustrated. My favourite of all, if I had to choose one, has to be V, because I loved that story when I read it and enjoyed it even more than Watchmen. You waited so long to post this, I'd actually forgotten you had it!

Ha yea that was a fun coincidence at the time! I recently took this fresh scan of it, the image HA used was holding me back from posting it, was not great quality compared to this scan. Also it felt appropriate for Halloween eve for some reason! Yeah def V is my fav here, I have a V mask on my shelf

I'm glad you rescanned it, as scans from regular scanners look better than Heritage images, due to them actually using one of those scanning cameras which hangs overhead while they lay the art down on a table. The distance between the camera lens and the art creates a blurriness to their images when looking at them blown up and that's something that home scanners don't have to deal with since the art lays down right on top of the glass which is directly above the scanning mechanism. The other downside and the most obvious one, is that the scanning camera tends to wash out the blacks and makes the paper more white than it should be. Nothing beats home scanners.Your scans are turning out great, so I'm glad to see you taking advantage of the investment you put into getting the scanner!

Such a great mix of characters in a single image that we can only get from a magazine feature. Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Ever since I was a young boy
I've heard the Wizard call
From Shamus to McLauchlin
I must have read 'em all
But I ain't seen nothing like him
In my weekly comics haul
That deft pen and wash inks
Mike Perkins draws them all

Price guides from the staff who
Becomes part of the machine
Picking Palmer Junior
The convention scene
He draws by intuition
V, Maestro, Dark Knight Fall
Hawkeye, Akira kid
Mike Perkins draws them all

He's an artwork wizard
I glad this pin up exists
A wash tone wizard's
Got such a supple wrist

How do you think he does it? I don't know
What makes him so good?

When I saw the wild assemblage of characters I was like "what could this be for?" Really interesting idea for an article! Nice piece by Perkins but I think Doom 2099 might be my favorite rendition.

Nice mix of memorable images from all sorts of properties!  To me, cool how they progressively get larger as you move to the left, and love how V's cape is covering so much of the background.  Congrats!

Super interesting theme! I was just thinking "WTF is Hawkeye there for?" Then I noticed the blindfold and realized he's from Old Man Logan (right?) Very cool, man!

It's got Doom 2099! That automatically kicks the awesomeness of this piece up a couple of notches.
