The Riddler by Ron Salas

Edward Nygma is without a doubt one of the best-known villains in Batman's rogues gallery. I knew about him from Super Friends and reruns of the 1960's Batman television series long before I ever read about him in comics. I loved his gimmick right from the start, because I loved riddles, and he was usually very entertaining. And I enjoyed comic stories featuring the Riddler, at least when the stories used actual riddles and puzzles. He was one of the best villains in Batman: The Animated Series, and I really enjoyed when Paul Dini had Edward become a detective and consultant in the comics. I think that Riddler stories work best when he entertains himself by making Batman and other crime fighters figure out his puzzles. Making him just another evil psycho killer is just boring. Anywho, I commissioned Ron Salas to draw the Riddler and he killed it. Edward looks confident and cocky here, like he knows he is the smartest man in the room. I love the folds in the suit and the creepy background. Ron continues to deliver the best Bat-commissions to me, and I cannot be happier with them!

Dramatc image and the background just makes it even greater.

The light figure is perfectly set against the stark black. All just odd enough to highlight this fantastically bizarre villian.

A fine design to form the question mark that connects to Riddler's legs. Adding the upside down face brillianty leaves us confounded.
