A wonderful Demon page, made especially meaningful by having been gifted to you by your family. There's nothing better than that. Welcome back, Jai!
Thanks, man. There really isn't anything better. I actually took time off of nearly everything after Fathers Day, and just stayed present with her. 😁 The next update in a couple weeks will probably tickle your fancy, too. It harkens back to the 80s, when everything was simpler and more "hands on." And Jazzercise! Heh, you're going to enjoy it.
I look forward to it! Been meaning to check in on you since the fall rolled in so I'll be in touch soon.
Awesome Demon page! Fun contrast between the Demon's casual violence followed by his gleeful bounding around and the other very human character recovering from the smackdown
Happy Father's Day ! :)
What a wonderful family you have! So glad you could get a very special page on a very special day.
Wow - I had a whole other direction to go with this comment, but after your description, I can only see the "child leaving for college" narrative playing out on this (great!) page (Happy Father's Day!)...
Panel 1 -
JH: Hey!! Where do you think _you're_ going? Go to your room until you're 30!
JH's daughter: What? WHAT?!? Hey, I've got a better idea...
Panel 2 -
JH's daughter: You should keep working on your Celestial Boy Band lyrics, dad... They could end up being... A HIT!
Panel 3 -
JH's daughter: And now... I'M OFF!
etc, etc...
(Just kidding, of course, and in all sincerity, I think it's awesome your daughter is starting off on her own "solo adventure" and I congratulate you on a job well done. I have a couple years left on the lease of my boy, before he goes off to college -gulp!- and I'll reach out when that happens so we can get together at that time and add captions to my art postings, cool? ;) ).
Ha! I think my wife had that dream like every night until she was gone at school. I will say, we have been seeing her quite often. Don't want to jinx anything--knocks on every wood thing in my house--but she keeps coming home every few weeks. We even went to Firefly (music festival) in September. So, I'd be happy to compare notes, but keep hope alive. :)
Such a thoughtful gift!
Great page and better story - getting art as a family gift is an awesome achievement. Congrats on the art and family memory!
I am so close to collecting the first series and cant wait to read it. Love all the panels full with Demon in them.
It was such a fun series, with just enough darkness. Good call. Just FYI, Mr Semeiks still has pages he sells on his site, for very reasonable prices.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
It's Demon Christmas in hell! Etrigan gets his freedom, Blood gets a Knucle Sandwich. And Sealed With a Kiss, for good measure. Heh, always enjoy your comments, John. Thank you
What a gift! Your family does know you--And they know great art as well! This Demon page by Val Semeiks is from a lovely sequence when the Etrigan visits Hell with Jason Blood and the page is full of magical language and magical art as well. Congrats on Father's Day and congrats on your new acquisition.
