Description

Matt Wagner - Batman/Grendel - Issue 1, page 43. This page has all of the main characters: Hunter Rose (Grendel), Bruce Wayne (Batman), Rachel King, and Hillary Ferrington. It also most importantly has a killer spread of the Batcave with a bunch of vehicles from the Batmobile, Batbike, taxi, truck, limo, some rich guy antique cars, it's amazing. Plus a tiny shadow of Batman running through the door to the cave. When this series came out I was a HUGE Grendel and Batman fan so I just about lost my mind.

The cavernous feel of the Batcave is expertly defined through shadows and the exactness in art is what Wagner brings on every page.
