DescriptionCan hardly do a Theme Week without featuring a piece by the great Humberto Ramos!Tonight we have this really fun cover featuring Dazzler, complete with guitar and multi-colored light bursts. I think it's rather clever that the printing on the marquee of the original art was changed to the title of the issue. Though I also love that the original art pays tribute to two different San Francisco venues that were very popular in the late '60s -- Fillmore West and the Carousel Ballroom. Very fitting since the X-Men were based in San Francisco at the time this comic came out. And since many musical artists like Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin and Johnny Cash performed and recorded famous albums at these venues, Dazzler is in really good company. I'm sure she'll rock the house to-NIGHT! Social/Sharing |

Ok, we've had some word that there is some bad red rope licorice circulating in the crowd. Please stay away from the red rope licorice. Do not bite any off or chew it. It could cause a dental emergency...

Okay Pauly, as you know this cover came out during a period when I was not a fan of Ramos' style, so I can't lie about that, different strokes being what they are. But I absolutely LOVE the classic rock music connection he integrated into this piece, more so now that it's a secret easter egg that never made it into print! That the sole character on the cover is a musician herself is the cherry on top. That it's also now owned by a musician? Well that's an entire strawberry cheesecake. YUM!

Almost a perfect cover - in my humble opinion, the guitar placement is wrong, if you know what I mean. Otherwise the perfect angle and all. Nice one.
