DescriptionThis is one of those rare gems that is very precious to me. To begin with, this is the Teen Titans logo, as drawn by George Perez, and that alone would have been cool enough. But just below and to the right is the mini self-portrait George drew that now adorns so many CGC books bearing his work, his signature or both. (See additional photos). I found this one day while George and I were in his studio organizing his flat files. Not only did he sign it for me, he insisted I take it as a gift for helping him out. That is one of the things I miss most about George--his enormous heart. Enjoy this little piece of George Perez history that I will treasure always.ADDITONAL INFO: My friend, Spencer Beck has informed me that this self-portrait was originally drawn as the badge art for an event called "10 Minutes With George Perez" that took place at New York Comic Con. He believes it took place in 2016, but he's not 100% on this. If anyone remembers or has more information about this event, please let me know. Thank you. Social/Sharing |

The original art to a quickie self-portrait used for a CGC label? That is so funny! Also, must be the most esoteric original art piece ever created by George. Kudos, Steve, really neat stuff here!

That's a great logo design! Is that for the vintage Teen Titans poster? The self portrait is cool too as it also it's own importance to the broader collecting community.

Losing George Perez was one of the worst things about 2022. He realy does live on in his work. His smiling face here captures his wonderful spirit.

Great piece, Steve! This completely tops out the coolness factor with the visual content here, but add in the unique and amazing emotional component as it relates to what sounds like a truly sweet personal experience with George...? Fantastic. Mega-congrats, Steve - incredibly cool piece.
