Description

Original Art Page to a classic mid-1970's title splash featuring King T'Challa in terrible danger! I believe this is from Planet of the Apes #63 from January 1976, which was a reprint of Jungle Action #8 from January 1974. The art shows Rich Buckler, but that is not correct, as they would always list the credits from the original story, but the new title page featured artwork by Dave Wenzel, as noted on the front and back of the page. The page measures approximately 11 1/2" by 17 1/2", and has some general wear around the edges, with a small edgewear tear near the middle right side edge. These classic 70's BP pages have become so hard to find, and this is a great one! Since the smash hit movie and sequel, King T'Challa and his vibranium-rich African kingdom of Wakanda have gained worldwide attention, becoming a cultural phenomenon in the process. All things Black Panther are hot, but to find an Original Art Title Splash from one of his earlier appearances, and one of his first solo stories, is incredibly rare. An absolute stunner of a page, if you were looking for just one perfect BP example for your collection, this is it!
