Ultramega

So many expletives and exclamations could easily be used here, but to be honest, my first reaction when I saw this was sincere gratitude. Talk about a destroyer level commission. I am completely blown away.

First of all, go back and check out the cover to Space Knights that I posted last month. This will give you a good idea about the book and who artist Kevin Catalan is.

After receiving the cover in hand, I decided it was a good idea to ask him about a commission. His style is influenced by James Harren and I even see touches of Ddubbs in it, so I knew that Ultramega would be a great choice.

This is the end result and it is cover quality. It is jaw dropping in overall scale and feel. It properly captures the Kaiju essence of Ultramega, and I would be flat out lying if I said it didn't remind me of James Harren himself. I could argue that this deserves to go in the back of the next run of Ultramega issues. It is that good.

Kevin went all out on this! When I see an artist put this much effort and care into a commission, I can only show sincere appreciation. Kevin Anthony Catlan is an artist that deserves to be recognized!

This piece is a solid reminder to why I love this hobby, and also why I commission artists. A sincere thank you to Kevin Catalan, you officially killed it!
