Description

I finally joined the John Byrne Club - and it's featuring my favorite character, Captain America! What I love about this double page spread... John Byrne's layout mastery to tell a familiar story, but with a twist we didn't expect, in just two pages. Byrne's attention to detail (inside the sub and Batcave) is on full display and his inks are very crisp.

As a bonus, it was this epilogue, suggested by writer Roger Stern, that inspired Byrne to go on to create his Superman & Batman: Generations Elseworlds series 1999-2004.

I love that Batman submarine. Great idea having them wake Captain Americ from the ice. Awesome piece and congrats!
