Thanks for sharing this lovely piece and for reposting your beautiful script about that magic afternoon in Flushing. I've reread it with great pleasure, looking back fondly to similar experiences of mine as a young comic art fan 😊
Very nice Perez sketch, I love her smile.
Somewhere out there relive the good old times
Someone's thinking of him and posts his art tonight
Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
Then we'll find we remember that his loyal fans still care
And even though I know how very hard find art there are
It helps to think we might be wishin' for the same Dawnstar
And when the night wind starts to bring a Legion artwork buy
It helps to think that we love the artwork of the same big guy
Somewhere out there, commissions afternoon
Then we'll find his covers somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true
Beautiful lyrics that could only be made better if sung by rodents.
Sure to put a smile on all Legion fans' faces :)
Something about this piece, it has so much charm.
Lovely piece from the genius.
Yes, it's true. The imperfection is ME!!!! (That's a little Our Worlds At War humor there. I'll be here all week folks.)
This is a lovely Dawnstar.
Turns out Imperiex is a big Maxima fan.
He loves her - - TO DEATH!!!!! I tell ya with girls, Imperex don't get no respect.
I love Dawnstar's design (and name!) and this is quite a lovely (and sexy!) bust shot (pun unintended, I swear!). But once again, the story you saved and reposted is even better, as it brought back great memories of my own earlier days in the hobby!
One of the best Legionnaires drawn by one of the best artists.
Congratulations! Wonderful art from an amazing artist that is deeply missed.
A beautiful piece of art, and a wonderful story to go along with it. That must have been quite a day back then. This hobby blesses all of us with similar experiences, and that's a big reason why I love it so much. Thanks so much for sharing.
Beautiful!
Great story, and I especially liked the line "It was like he was performing magic in front of us." The Dawnstar portrait is proof of George's magical talent, a piece you can view again and again and it'll never get old.
